The painting depicts the Church of San Quintino in the town of Mondovì, which was first constructed around 1455. Over the centuries it became part of a larger complex, and in the 19th century it gained the addition of a bell tower.
In his latest series Cordero was inspired by the town of Mondovì, where he grew up in Northern Italy. Reevaluating childhood memories, he turns his focus to familiar subjects, injecting his personal sentiment into expressive renderings of the local scenery – landscapes, historical sites and old places of worship.
