Red Room, (Aquarium). 2021

The space in the painting is a product of the artist’s inner world, an imaginary construction filled with personal symbolism. Red Room is a projection of calmness and tranquility for the artist, a place he wishes to inhabit. 

The aquarium on the right is an object of personal significance, a vessel holding water which for Cordero is a metaphor for mental tranquility. Similarly, the stylized blue armchair signifies a place for meditation where one can find balance and calm.
