Beast of Burden II – Metamorphosis. 2022

“Metamorphosis” is written in Chinese characters among a swirl of brushwork centered on a beastly head. Metamorphosis hearkens to transformation, the notion of becoming the fully realized versions of ourselves and fulfilling our potential. In contrast, the beast represents the part of ourselves we might view as undesirable. However, the truth is what lies under the façade, hungry for freedom.
