Beast of Burden III – Foe. 2022

Foe is dedicated to the outsiders, those who are often viewed as misfits or even enemies. The artist channels her personal experience with foreignness as migration continues to challenge modern society. This experience is expressed with challenges to comprehensibility and appreciation, i.e., artistic or cultural hurdles. The work was created with original mixed media paintings that have been solarized, filtered, and blended dozens of times. The writing and the other elements were added digitally.
